Album Notes
Salem Whitehead has been singing since she could talk, playing piano since she was seven and writing music since she was sixteen. In the high school band she played the flute, oboe and trumpet and was always the one asked to pick up a new instrument or try something different. Her father is a musician and her mother is an actress so stepping on the stage was only natural for her and I guess you could say that music is in her blood. After taking some time away from the music scene, Salem has decided it’s time to pursue what she loves. She had been working on a cover band project with local musicians but felt the need to record the music she has been writing for so many years. In order to do this, she surrounded herself with some of the best veteran musicians from the Rocky Mountain region, and with the help of her dad, completed the ep, "Saturday Night." The result is a collection of songs representative of the depth of emotion and personal experience which Salem puts into her music. The ep is just the beginning. She is planning on promoting it through live performance and continuing to record.
