Album Notes
Written and produced by Sally Strawberry, "Hear you lie" is the first single from her recent solo project. She's currently working on the rest of the album.

Sally’s earlier pro work was a session with popular dance act Saint Etienne in the 1990s. Later she collaborated with ambient music duo Surge. After writing and recording together for just a couple of months, Millennium Records signed them and released Cold Air – a Surge/Strawberry original. Remixes of Cold Air and a successful cover of Gershwin’s Summertime were released as well-reviewed singles with extensive air play - notably on Pete Tong’s essential collection and XFM. A decade later they continued to appear on various dance compilations.

In 2000, Sally collaborated with programmer and engineer Ned Douglas (then working with Dave Stewart, subsequently with Mick Hucknall, among others). Ned’s tracks provided an apt backdrop to Sally’s own bluesy writing style. The collaboration yielded an album of ambient, laid-back tracks – several of which have featured in Sally’s live repertoire.

However, Ned’s move to the US and Sally’s appetite for live work led to her forming a blues trio, performing on the European circuit. Sally was particularly drawn to France – with several successful festival dates, including Beauvais and Cognac.

Latterly, she toured the South Coast of England on the jazz and blues circuit and also toured with 20 year-old French Blues prodigy Charlie Fabert in France and the UK.

Sally continues to write and record as a solo artist, whilst seeking interesting collaborations.

"The strong vocals of Sally Strawberry are decidedly up-market, clear and articulate. Brings to mind Led Zeppellin’, Robert Plant could do this song as much vocal justice as Sally does!
Frank Franklin (Blueprint Magazine Editor).

"A singer with a sensual and velvety yet powerful voice!
Sally’s vocal incantations are captivating and heart-warming!
I remain spellbound by her fresh voice!"
Joel Bizon (B.C.R. Magazine, France).

"Tremendous voice!
Will have everyone singing along!"
Rick Lacey (Blues Matters magazine)

“Sometimes sultry, sometimes sassy and always sexy. Simply sensational”
Mark Acheson (Portsmouth Evening News)
