Salon de la Guerre’s first symphony, “Gravitas: A Life,” is a long-form musical piece that was created on a smartphone but has orchestral ambitions. The symphony is broken into 16 instrumental passages offering the musical soundtrack for the life of a fictional character named Gravitas. The work, composed entirely on an iPhone 6, is a pastiche of classical music approaches such as concerto grosso, atonality, musique concrete and minimalism that also incorporates rock 'n' roll and jazz.
