ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Salon de la Guerre is the project of writer and filmmaker Eric R. Rasmussen. These tracks were made at his home studio, mostly in 2013. All tracks produced, written and performed by Eric R. Rasmussen (with some additional vocals by Stephanie Faith Scott).

"The Mechanical Bean" is a rock opera about a family of poor farmers who find themselves possessed of superpowers after a patented strain of genetically modified super grain blows onto their land. At first lionized by their community for fighting crime, they later find themselves sued by corporations for patent infringement and demonized by anti-authoritarians. Their powers first turn them against the community and then against each other. Eventually the powers make one son fatally ill. Determined to live by the moral code of everybody else, the family, stricken with grief, submits to the authorities and prison.
