Ether-Trash

by Samantha Echo

"Ether-trash," coined by Echo, meaning "a creature from another world who is obliged to become human by mistake," is a darkly comic musical journey through arrested development and escapism, with layered soprano vocals and euphoric pianos and guitars.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Samantha Echo can be described as the Love Child of Leonard Cohen and a Disney Princess. New York-born with a background in Classical Bel Canto technique, she is known for her almost irritatingly beautiful soprano voice, and her poetic, cynical lyrics which tend to explore the themes of unrequited love, arrested development, and mental illness in ways that will first make you laugh and then haunt you. Her music been described as "somewhere between dangerous and whimsy," (Jack Murray, Unknown Nobodies), and "Dark Fairy Rock" (Jamie Ignao). Ruby McCollister (Zhe Zhe) has called her "one of the most important artists of (the Millennial) generation."
