Album Notes
Samantha Martin began her musical career in her teens, interpreting songs from various Country, Blues, Bluegrass and 60's Folk/Rock catalogues.

Growing up in the rural Grey-Bruce county of Ontario, Samantha quickly became a crowd favorite with her exceptional voice and admirable stage presence.

Now in her early 20's, Martin is poised to release her first album. Produced by Toronto's multi-instrumentalist absolute, Derek Downham, the album showcases the dynamic layers and raw strength of Martin's songwriting. Songs of love, loss, sin and redemption all make an appearance. Her distinctive vocals lay atop a vast highway of sound, supplied by some of Canada's finest musicians.

The album features the musical efforts of Martin, Downham, John Showman (of the award winning Creaking Tree String Quartet), Leon Kingstone (of Do Make Say Think, Synthetic Folk Hero), Fergus Hambleton (Juno winner, founding member of The Satellites), Jud Ruhl(ex-Gandharvas, The Beauties), the tear-stained pedal steel work of Alex Maximew, the dexterous harmonica of Marty Stelnick, and many more. The album was engineered and mixed by the expert hands of Taras

A true "trucker's daughter", Martin is continuously travelling, writing and performing. With early critical acclaim, and the completion of her latest release, BACK HOME ((c) 2008), she is certain to be catapulted into the upper echelon of the roots/country scene in Canada and The U.S.
