Guitar Psychosis
Hello, and thanks for "tuning in" here. Guitar Psychosis is my 26th CD, and my 4th solo project in a row. I've made many CDs with other musicians, and plan to make many more before it's all over, but sometimes it's nice to step back and do something completely on my own.

The title 'Guitar Psychosis' is partly just my own somewhat twisted sense of humor(I have another CD's worth of material, tentatively titled Guitar Psychosis- Outpatient), and partly an homage of sorts to The Ventures for their 1969 hit Guitar Freakout. I suppose I could run with that, with some kind of slogan. Guitar Psychosis: This time it's clinical..

The music on the CD draws from my own varied background as a musician: I've been a guitarist, bassist, keyboard player(and in a variety of styles)and also a classical music composer. So you'll hear elements of jazz, rock, blues and classical music, plus maybe some 'genres' I hadn't thought of. Some different approaches to guitar playing are explored in here, a number of which may sound a bit 'raw' compared to the straight-ahead jazz playing people usually associate me with. But all in the interest of good, expressive music.

71 minutes of music and 21 selections is quite a hearty helping, but I've tried to design the CD as a listening experience, and give it a flow that takes the listener on a 'sonic journey' as it were, through these sometimes(well, okay, often)strange and exotic vistas.

I sincerely hope you enjoy the music on this CD. It was a lot of fun to make. (A hell of a lot of WORK as well, but still fun!)And I'm hoping it's an enjoyable, and maybe even inspiring, listening experience.
