Album Notes
Tenor Sam Hagan has performed as a featured soloist with some of America's best orchestras including the Atlanta Symphony, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and the Flagstaff Festival Orchestras, and at the world-famous Spoleto Festival USA under such noted conductors as James Levine, Lorin Maazel, Skitch Henderson, Louis Lane, and, on many occasions, with Robert Shaw. He studied with Metropolitan Opera baritone Timothy Nolen and director of Hofstra University’s opera program in New York, Patricia Heuermann, and he has been featured in concert in Europe (where he served as cantor for a Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica), Canada, and Mexico. He twice sang for Pope John Paul II and performed at the inauguration of President Jimmy Carter.
In Atlanta, Sam is a member of The 3 Inspirational Tenors, a popular trio that offers sacred and secular inspirational classics on concert stages, in churches, at conventions and for organizations celebrating special occasions. He is staff cantor at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Atlanta (GA). Sam’s web site can be found at

Pianist and accompanist Harding Epps, Jr. is a graduate of Morehouse College. As a member of Morehouse’s Glee Club, he performed in the premier of Scott Joplin’s Treemonisha with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in 1972 and toured the African continent that same year.
