Album Notes
Your ears may try to tell you differently but believe it or not, this live solo CD contains only 100% organic human music. The One Mouth Band's soaring vocals and earthy groove in Steve Miller's "Fly Like an Eagle" or Bill Withers' "Use Me" are surpassed only by the jaw-dropping instrumental imitations of his McFerrin-inspired theme song, "One Mouth Band". The infectiously rhythmic, full-body percussion of Sting's poignant "Walking in Your Footsteps" and originals "Another Dollar" or "I Can't Love You for Much Longer" will leave you humming and tapping long after the music ends. On the other end of his musical spectrum, the vocal acrobatics on "Autumn Leaves", playful dissonance of "Till There Was You", classic West Coast Jazz approach to "Angel Eyes", and stunning rendition of "Moody's Mood for Love" remain accessible and enjoyable to a surprisingly wide range of listeners. The freedom and musicality of the album's two improvised tracks are also nothing less than impressive.

This debut album by solo a cappella musician Sam Rogers (a.k.a. The One Mouth Band) is sure to grab -- and hold -- your attention.

Here's what others had to say...

"There are only a few performers talented and brazen enough to follow in Bobby McFerrin's footsteps, sustaining a song with just their own voice. Sam Rogers combines some modern vocal percussion with singing and inventive noise-making on a delightful cross-section of jazz and pop tunes."
- Don Gooding, President of

"Sam has always had great musical tast for a wide range of music. I am happy to see that he's used all of those influences and developed a style of his own."
- Roy Rogers, slide guitar virtuoso and Grammy award-winning Producer

"It is simply stunning what Sam can accomplish!"
- Ward Swingle, Arranger/Singer/Founder of The Swingle Singers

"Sam Rogers stands up in front of a microphone provides vocals, percussion, background vocals, fake horns and scat singing for a surprising demonstration of the capabilities and possibilities of the human voice...Sam and his great set of lungs are pushing the a cappella envelope!"
- John Neal, President of Primarily A Cappella Records

"Give this man a mic! Get him on a mic!"
- Narada Michael Walden, Grammy award-winning Producer

"Man! I don't believe it! His human beatbox is the best!"
- Jamie Williams, SF 49er turned Film Producer

"To find a new way of singing and then to make it so musical...I didn't think it could be done!"
- Andrea Figallo, bass singer & vocal percussionist for The Flying Pickets
