ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This mini-album of three popular classical pieces for two guitars offers a refreshing and relaxing take on the original versions of the pieces. The first two minuets by Johann Sebastian Bach were originally written for harpsichord and included in the Anna Magdalena Handbook. (Minuet in G major BWV Anh. 114 has now been attributed to Christian Pezold.) The third minuet by Ridolfo Luigi Boccherini was originally from a string quintet.

The minuets were arranged and recorded by Stewart and I some time ago in Edinburgh, UK and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience of arranging, practising and ultimately recording the pieces in this album greatly. The recording sessions went late into the night and thankfully the resulting musical output was very positive and satisfying. Releasing it as a mini-album on CD Baby is also a tribute to the good times Stewart and I enjoyed as friends and classical music students at Edinburgh Napier University many moons ago!

Stewart continues to work as a teacher, composer/singer-songwriter and performer in Edinburgh and is highly skilled and well respected in his field. I have since moved to Hong Kong and built a successful career as a primary school English teacher. However, I still pursue music passionately as a performer, composer/singer-songwriter and teacher. This mini album is my fourth release on CD Baby to date alongside the three singles I have released as an independent singer-songwriter. More titles will follow later in the year.

We hope you enjoy listening to the music as much as we enjoyed recording it!
Thank you for listening and for your support.
Sam & Stewart
