ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Turn the Moon" is saxophonist/composer Sam Williams' debut album, and features Art Lande (piano), Tom Gershwin (trumpet), Zack Teran (bass), and Dru Heller (drums). Comprised of original compositions (including a previously unrecorded contribution by pianist Art Lande), this album covers vast swaths of musical territory. Each track has its own story, character, and inspiration, while remaining an integral component of the album's overall aesthetic. The music is spontaneous, interactive, serious, playful, tender, intense, mysterious, and above all else sincere.

"Turn the Moon" was recorded and mixed by Colin Bricker at Mighty Fine Productions in Denver, CO, and mastered by Stevin McNamara in Ashland, OR. Cover photo by Merrick Chase.
