Album Notes
Some people called a radio they had been bringing to the beach for many years "Sand Machine" because it was filled with sand, yet it still worked. Inspired by its persistence and dedication to music, they named their band after it. It's called Sand Machine. Their songs range from driving stomp to trudging waltz, from social commentary to storytelling to emotional revelation. Sand Machine is the Hepburn twins, Jay and Dave, Jeremy Bates and Noah Scanlan. Besides playing consistently in Boston and other parts of New England, they play other places like NYC, Pittsburgh, and Nashville. The Running of the Tree Frogs Week EP is the precursor to a new full-length CD, titled Porch & Space, to be released later in 2005.
