Album Notes
"Find Me" was written in May 2008, after my dear friend from high school attempted suicide. I wanted to help her, and in order to help her, I first wanted to understand her. So I wrote this song. I cried and cried as I poured myself into what Laura might have been going through. But I had never felt closer to her. I didn't tell her I wrote a song for her. It was personal, and I was insecure, and very sensitive to what she must be going through. So I put it away and forgot about it.

We wrote letters for a few years. And it seemed to help, for a while. But in June 2015, my sweet friend Laura took her life. As I sat there, stunned, I decided to look for some pictures of Laura and I from high school, for the funeral. As I opened the first box, there on the top, almost as if it were waiting to be found again, was this song. And the tears just came on as I sat again at the piano and sang the song as if I had never forgotten it. Once again, it was too real, too raw and too painful. So I put the song away.

Several years later, as I opened a folder, this song fell out. Again, almost as if it were waiting to be found. I took that as an omen and decided to finish the song. I don't think it is a coincidence that the title of the song, from the very beginning was "Find Me"

In Aug. 2019, I felt the need to make a video to bring suicide awareness and mental health awareness. I reached out to several groups on Facebook, asking for anyone to send me pictures of loved ones who had died by suicide. Within a week, I had 50 images compiled. I finished the video on Sept 10, 2019, which just happened to be Worldwide Suicide Prevention Day. And I launched it onto Facebook. As of today, (jan. 2020) there are around 5800 views. I hope with all my heart that this song and video can touch lives. And for those of you who continue to suffer in silence, please know that you are not alone.
