Getting Away

Alternative rock both edgy and funky. To put it simply, if Evanescence & Paramore had a baby it would be this CD!

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
My debut CD, Getting Away, offers a sound for everyone ranging from alternative rock to funky and electronic. I love writing songs that have deep meanings with strong story lines that everyone can relate to. For example, everyone has that one ex we wish we could have gotten revenge on and that's what the title song, Getting Away, is all about - the perfect middle finger song. To counter the dark side of love I wrote Torn with my younger sister. This song is dedicated to summer lovers who don't know how good it is until it's gone. Three of my more serious songs include Seconds, Crying Shame and Crimson Lullaby. Seconds is a song about time - not having enough to do the things we want, to say the things we need and wishing for second chances. Crying Shame has a slightly darker tone because the song deals with teenagers and their constant struggle to keep going when hope is failing. I wrote Crimson Lullaby after I heard about the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy. I felt compelled to write something so people would never forget the families or those young children. Nightmare is a song written after an actual nightmare. That one reoccurring nightmare that you can't seem to escape from no matter how hard you try. For me it was being chased by a zombie clown riding a spider with ice cream truck music playing in the background - you get the idea. I end the album with one of the most interestingly written songs, Spooky Funky Nasty. The creative process in writing this song was so sporadic and so much fun because it was me and the band just messing around and we unintentionally created this amazing song. With the completion of Getting Away I have begun working on my second album. "Love me, hate me as long as you listen."

Surprising New Talent
I love alternative rock and thought I would listen to this new artist. Surprised at the mixture of songs, not a one note here (no pun intended). Really good voice and powerful sounds, really like this singer and her music!
