Album Notes
Born and raised in the two Virginias, Sarah White is a songwriter who might resemble some kind of Hazel Dickens/Patti Smith/Cat Power love child. Her catalog offers an eclectic blend of driving folk-rock, sorrowful country ballads and experimental, personal narrative songs -- the trifecta that defines her lengthening body of work.

High Flyer, a long anticipated full-length album, features 11 of White’s best songs tracked with a bevy of seasoned players including Daniel Clarke (k.d. Lang, Ryan Adams) on piano and keys, Charles Arthur (Slaid Cleaves) on guitars, and Stewart Myers (Agents of Good Roots), who also produced the album, on bass. Special guests include Dave Matthews (who sings with White on ‘Sweetheart’); Carter Gravatt (guitars) of Carbon Leaf; Nashville up-and-comer Carl Anderson and Austin and Michael York of Sleepwalkers.

“Sarah’s music kills me, beautifully from the ground up, no plastic.”
— Dave Matthews

“Gorgeous, catchy, and ultimately moving songs. ”
