Album Notes
Sarah Wild is a Portland, OR-based artist and frontwoman for her 5-piece pop/rock band Sarah Wild and The Watch. After the release of her first album under her given name, Sarah Vitort, she transformed into the hooded, masked rock and roll vigilante that is Sarah Wild. Since the switch, Wild quickly gained momentum, playing iconic Portland venues such as the Doug Fir Lounge and Dante's, and released a 5-song demo EP, titled "Villain" under her new moniker. "Villain" features a sampling of diverse genres, including pop rock, country and blues. This diversification has been a meaningful step in the evolution of Wild as an artist.

Starting from humble roots, Sarah dreamed of the limelight, performing for her preschool class and later picking up the guitar at age 7. Throughout her teenage years, Sarah experimented with songwriting and practiced tirelessly to develop her skills. After attending college at Washington State University, she dabbled in Broadcast Journalism and PR which was a divergence from her musical origin but, being born into a musical family she soon felt the calling to return to her passion. Sarah escaped the corporate world by deciding to travel South America for awhile. There, she began writing again and performing in bars for other travelers. Upon her return stateside, she decided it was time to fully dedicate herself to her music.

Influenced by country pop at the time, Wild wrote and recorded her first album with producer Jeanot Lewis-Rolland and bandmates Colin Johnson and Mathieu Lewis-Rolland. The album, titled "Wild Heart, Gypsy Soul", chronicled Sarah’s personal growth as she gathered experiences during her travel. After it's release, Sarah felt "Wild Heart, Gypsy Soul" did not fully encapsulate her spirit. As most of us realize as we grow older, the hardships of life and love can create stronger versions of ourselves; Sarah too, developed a darker and edgier songwriting style and Sarah Wild was born. After writing "Villain", she collaborated with her band The Watch (Everett Carlson, Aron Schur, Mathieu Lewis-Rolland) and producer Jeanot Lewis-Rolland, to record and produce her EP. “Villian” quickly became a crowd favorite and a jumping off point for the unveiling of her new persona.

The single is currently available on Spotify, iTunes and YouTube. The entire EP is available on Bandcamp.

Following the October 1st release of "Villain", Wild is headed back to the drawing board with the intent of writing her next album. She plans to dive deep into the classic sounds of pure rock and roll and dirty blues, possibly with a hint of dark, sexy electro/synth sounds. She has enlisted new bandmates Sean Woodcock (guitar) and Ian Garner (drums), in addition to original bandmates Aron Schur and Everett Carlson, to aid her on this mission. Over the next 6 months, she will also be touring Europe and the US with the folk-pop duo, Fox and Bones. Be sure to check back here and on Facebook for tour dates and more!
