Album Notes
Sarita's music could be classified as ethnic, spirit folk. Her gift for writing poetry and lyrics blended with the intensity and sweetness of her singing voice create a very familiar, very soulful song. Her music creates a sense of introspection. Though her lyrics are full of energy and hope, she has been known to make a roomful of people cry. Sarita's gypsy spirit invites us all to dream, to feel, and to sing. Her songs are prayers, portraits, and delicious moments of sweet and moving song...

An original member of Hamsa Lila, Sarita Pockell performed the Kora, as well as many of the lead vocals and vocal arrangements on the "Gathering One" album.

After a classical vocal career which brought her to tour the world with award winning choirs, Sarita lived and traveled throughout Latin America collecting traditional melodies as she visited with many indigenous people from Mexico to Argentina Sarita self-produced her solo album "Songlines" (, a compilation of her own ethnic-spirit-folk songs inspired by her travels. More recently, she co-produced and recorded "Bingo Americana" ( with her husband John Schroeder.

Currently, she is giving unique music and recording classes and workshops for children as will as performing the songs from her "Bubblejuice! Real Music for Kids" album. ( and the celebrated "The Adventures of Kid Kaleidoscope". It has been said that she "exudes the magic of a real life Mary Poppins
