Album Notes
Saul Kurtz In Collaboration With Gideon King is brand new and everlasting, the product of different musical paths crossing to create memorable soundscapes and images driven by real emotion. Kurtz and King jammed for the first time on a remote island by chance. Those who listened wanted more. A kind of music was born in those late evening sessions on that island, a melting together of genres, flowing melody, sharp edges, anger, and hope.

Kurtz is known for writing gems, plain and simple. His tunes blend rock, hip-hop, folk, and pop, and at times remind us of John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Mumford and Sons, and more. His departure from other artists starts with his unique, vulnerable, soulful voice, and ends with lyrics that are at once pleading, demanding, and emotional. He is a serious pop artist making serious pop music for anyone interested in deep song.

King is a well-known fusion musician who has composed for and collaborated with some of the finest musicians on the planet, including John Scofield, James Genus, and more. Influenced by crossover bands like Steely Dan, blues players such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, and fusion and jazz composers like Pat Metheny and Wayne Shorter, King improvises and composes drawing from a wide sonic spectrum.

Together, Kurtz and King make music that matters, replete with rock, pop, and fusion influence. Pushing and pulling, sometimes even fighting, the duo have created something special, something that defies labels and categorization, something that must only be called "Saul Kurtz In Collaboration With Gideon King."
