ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Savoy in color is a NYC - ok, technically Brooklyn - based jazz ensemble, with lush harmonies and the mantra that space is beautiful. Inspired by classic 50s and 60s recordings, especially Miles Davis/ Gil Evans collaborations, the group features 7 horns plus upright bass and drum set. The debut EP, "The Wold You're In Is Perfect" was recorded live at The Bunker studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Savoy In Color is:
- Trumpets: Marty Bound, Joseph Ancowitz, Bryan Davis
- Sax: Geoff Countryman (Alto), David Steinberg (Tenor), Gary Pickard (Bari)
- Trombone: Rick Parker
- Rhythm: Damian Peters (Bass), Dave Previ (Drums)
- Writer/Arranger: Ben Cockerham

And of course, we all live by the classic Mingus quote:

"Most customers, by the time the musicians reach the second set, are to some extent inebriated. They don't care what you play anyway." Indeed. One more whiskey, bartender.
