Stylish,Romantic, as real and fresh as ever.
I first heard SB in the late 70's, and listening to this CD takes me back as well as forward.
The new stuff is great, and the accountic Red Cab made me smile with both nostalgia, and the realisation that hey, we're still active and very much in the game.
An excellent album, with all the style and melody I'd expect from a Stephen Bishop album.

This CD proves out SB's guitar virtuosity in full. How one guy could, with one guitar, fill in all the voices of accompanyment we hear on his records is amazing. And that's just the guitar. His vocals are top-flight, just killer. This CD gives a living-room couch intamacy to the listening experience. Sometimes a stripped-down version of a big hit is rather boring, but when Bish does it--as with ON AND ON--it actually adds to the song. With this CD, you see where all the arrangement ideas came from on the regular-release CDs--Bish. His guitar work is superb, and it affords him tremendous dynamic range. RED CAB and PARKED CARS make you want to cry. How did he write this stuff? If you like Bish, you'll, duh, love this.

I was missing Stephen's intimate atmosphere: I got it!
When songs are great, the more you take off their musical layers the better they sound. A masterpiece for a great artist.

Unique Talent!
Stephen has a UNIQUE TALENT that is only his very own: his sound is very individual, his voice is highly recognizable and his songs speak for themselves (not in the least for the many other respected musicians that see the quality of his work - and perform his music). The only thing we do not understand is, why the world has not embraced Stephen as the Superstar he is!
We have been following Bish since his first LP (yes, LP) and are truly happy to have this gem to add to our collection. Looking for the right (next) one!

still full of charm
What a joy to hear Bish without the trimmings but with all the characteristic charm I associate with his music. From start to finish this is an acoustic pleasure with a balanced mix of nostalgia for the fans and new tunes for the tried and true disciples.
Just sit back and enjoy
