Album Notes
Before he was in The Black Crowes, Marc Ford was in the Scarecrows, playing live and recording fun rockin songs starting in 1988. Besides that, the Scarecrows had a loyal following and critical approval in the 80's. It was an insetuous scene of friends/musicians playing in each others' bands like Burning Tree, Citadel, Cathedral of Tears, Social Distortion. The Scarecrows legacy lasted for ten years while sharing the stage with such important acts as Johnny Thunders, Ian Hunter - Mick Ronson, Lena Lovich, Husker Du, Violent Femmes, Dickies, Gun Club, TSOL and 45 Grave.

Fantastic trip back in time
I was so happy when I found out about this CD, being a huge Black Crowes fan and one of Marc Ford in particular, I've been hunting down anything that he played on, which mostly is a track here and there, but this is a full CD with his fantastic guitar work, early stuff, but you can already tell that it is him in many places... The music on the CD hits home well with me too, straight rock with a bluesy undertone, I'd call it, but I am no expert. The 15 tracks are all very listenable, even though I think that the best is the first and the quality slightly drops a notch towards the end. The only negative thing I could say is the production, the vocals are way too much up front for my taste, but as you can see in my rating this is nothing to lose a star for ;-)

A CD that makes a good addition to any Crowes collection, but should also be there if you are not (yet) into the Crowes!

And you came to the right place to get it, cheers for the great service, all the way from Hamburg, Germany, Roughale
