Album Notes
The Star Vista, the first major mall in Buona Vista, celebrates Singapore’s 50th birthday with a community-engagement music initiative, Project Celebrate. Organised in collaboration with Singapore Polytechnic (SP), the project seeks to bring the community around The Star Vista – comprising students, residents, the One-North working population, shoppers and tenants – and beyond to come together to commemorate the landmark event through a song.

The song at the heart of Project Celebrate is an original composition titled You & Me, written by Scarlet Avenue, an up-and-coming local band comprising two brothers (Amos and Adam Ang) who is signed to United Records.

In March 2015, the public will be invited to take part in Project Celebrate by adding their vocals to the acapella version of this song, They can record their vocals in a specially-constructed recording studio located at The Star Vista’s Star Plaza by students from SP’s School of Digital Media & Infocomm Technology. The students will also film the recording process and will put together a music video of the participants singing the song. When completed, the song and music video will be made available on broadcast and social media platforms.

Check out the public recording times and sessions on The Star Vista’s website ( and Facebook page (

New day, new morning, we’re not looking back
We’ve come so far, so far from where we first began
With every little breath we had, we sowed into this land

With every step we’re looking at the city lights
Across the sky, the moon and stars are shining bright
It is the start of a brand new chapter of our lives
We’re counting 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5

I’m gonna dance all night, just you and me
I’m gonna sing to the rythym of a brand new beat
And I’ll take your hand and I don’t wanna leave
With every move we make, we’re makin’ history
Cos tonight, tonight
It’s you and me

There’s a place in my heart that I will always keep
A nation filled with hope and dreams that make us young and free
Hand in hand we will stand up for this time of jubilee (woah)

As we look beyond the plans of what we have in line
It don’t matter if we come from different walks of life
Can you feel the love from the colors of the night
We’re counting 1,2,3,4, and 5

Tonight tonight
Let's celebrate tonight tonight
We're gonna sing tonight tonight
Let's celebrate tonight tonight
We're gonna sing

About Scarlet Avenue -
Comprising of 2 Singaporean brothers, Amos and Adam, Scarlet Avenue started their musical journey in 2005 in France when their parents were stationed there for work. Influenced by the rich musical culture of Europe, they were inspired to sing and perform in both English and French. Upon coming back to Singapore, they began their creative journey in writing songs and performing in cafes. In 2013, their vocal quality and song writing ability captured the attention of Singaporean record label United Records. Scarlet Avenue has since released 10 episodes of cover song music variety videos on Youtube an also sang for local non profit campaigns such as Shark Savers 'I'm Finished With Fins' and Breast Cancer Foundation 'You Make Me A Warrior'.
