Album Notes
Slide guitar powered juke joint blues band Scissormen took the stage at 2010's Blues Rules festival just as a light rain began to pelt the crowd. Suddenly, before the first song, guitar kingpin Ted Drozdowski's amp blew up. He plugged into a new nearby Marshall half-stack amp he'd never touched before, looked out at the cold and increasingly wet crowd and spoke with drummer supreme R.L. Hulsman. Their decision: to rock their blues hard and fast in an effort to keep the chill off and their soon-to-be new fans happy. This straight from the board authorized bootleg recording released in cooperation with Blues Rules is the sound of that mission being accomplished. Sometimes, it's noisy as a scrapyard; sometimes it's moody as the dark and still Delta night. But it's always full of life and energy and fearless in capturing their performance — including the bad notes and dings as Ted flies off the stage and over the barriers to play repeatedly in the crowd. You can also find Scissormen's first two albums, Jinx Breakers and When the Devil Calls, at CD Baby, and their latest studio album Luck in a Hurry at major on-line outlets and many fine independent music stores.
