Album Notes
Our 2nd CD was “highly anticipated”, and I’m pretty sure we did not disappoint. We hired the same producer, John Michel, and had some amazing players guest on the record: Jeff Pevar (CPR) is all over the CD, Jon Paris (Johnny Winter) plays harp, Richie Cannata (Billy Joel) and Mario Cruz (Springsteen) both play sax. NIGHTCAP was released in 2003, and for the next eight months, several cuts from the record were added the regular playlists of over 330 radio stations across the country. Most popular radio tunes were: title track NIGHTCAP WORLD (Jack’s lead vocal), COCOON (mine), AMERICAN TONIGHT (Jack), JUST LIKE RITA (me). We did a music video of Cocoon, you can find it on youtube.

Reviews were again very favorable, and on the strength of the two releases we got a sub-publishing deal with Fintage Music out of The Netherlands, and a licensing deal with a company out of Nashville called BME Music. We had the great pleasure to play a showcase in Leiden, outside of Amsterdam, for 20 Fintage Music execs in 2006, and so far have licensed our original music to 2 MTV reality shows, National Lampoon’s One, Two Many (on DVD), and the upcoming HBO movie Sherman’s Way.

After working for a time on a third scoldees CD with new players Glen Saunders (electric/acoustic bass) and lead guitar player Ethan Meixsell (Ted Rydzewski had left for greener pastures), the band parted ways in 2006. We are all still great friends and will again someday play music together, I am sure. In the meantime I am working on a solo CD that will include some of the tracks we were working (plus my brand new songs). Like the best advice you can give a guitar player - stay tuned!

“The members of this foursome have certainly grown as songwriters and performers since their debut album, My Pathetic Life, as best evidenced by their compassionate harmonizing that suggests considerable amounts of time on the road together. At their best, co-lead vocalists Nancy Sirianni and Jack Hoffmann offer an update of the mystical Buckingham Nicks sound; indeed, few bands but Fleetwood Mac could begin an album with four tracks as strong as the first four here.” -All Music Guide

“On their second album, Nightcap World, the scoldees present a compelling collection of original tunes, most featuring Nancy Sirianni’s emotional and diverse vocals, and engaging Folk/Rock arrangements that make the listener want to hear them over and over.” -FRIDAY MORNING QUARTERBACK

“The Scoldees have a sly, afterhours feel that sounds like a cross between impressionistic film music and R&B-flavored ballad rock. The band melds its diverse influences into compelling songs artfully delivered among the several vocalists in the group. The group is top-notch AAA music delivered with style and skill.” -Ink19

A few Sirianni Reviews:

“Sirianni's leads are accented with Morissette-y reverbed clips and vocal leaps which would make Paula Cole blush.”

“Nancy Sirianni's vocals (have) been compared to Alanis Morissette's but once you've heard it, you won't mistake it for anyone else's. It's clear, soaring, and full of emotive power.”
-PREVIEW Hudson Valley, NY

"All I Want," (is) a song that could easily have come from the pen of one of the pop world's hitmakers.”

“...the highlight has to be the smooth, deep vocals of Nancy Sirianni.”

Cedits include:

Woodstock '99, Emerging Artist Stage
Mountain Stage NewSong Festival,
The Bottom Line, NYC (opener Heart’s Nancy Wilson)
The Whisky A-Go-Go (LA)
Jazz Cafe The Duke in Leiden, The Netherlands.

Solo, Nancy recently opened for American Idol Taylor Hicks at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Original songs in the soundtracks of:
Film: National Lampoon's One Two Many, HBO’s Sherman’s Way
TV: MTV reality shows MADE and MY SUPER SWEET 16

Great tunes reminiscent of the 60s and 70s, with a modern edge.
The band writes soulful, tasty songs that make me want to hear them again and again. I can't say this about a lot of other artists out there these days. Oh, and theres such variety on the disc, something i prefer... a cd thats cohesive, yet varied. Nice job, guys... and girl.
