ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"The fresh new sound of Irish Rock".

An album recorded in a studio built by the members of Scorpion Jack, David and Rohan. It encapsulates the raw energy and vigour with which they play their live shows. No Thanks, Yes Please! is a metaphor of ying yang politeness, it is gritty, emotional and invigorating.

Scorpion Jack are a dynamic acoustic folk rock duo. “The kegs are loaded in the basement,” and “I wish that I could pause time,” are just some of the lyrics that soar throughout the album. With infectious on-stage chemistry and intoxicating grooves and melodies they know how to entertain. Their folk rock sound evokes influences from the fields of traditional, metal, contemporary electro, classical and blues taking listeners on nostalgic journeys to new heights. Relaxing, thought evoking and comical the on stage chemistry is a source of intrigue and speculation coining the phrase, “they're either cell mates or soul mates.”

Proud to come from a musically rich part of the world the duo carry on the musical torch held high and brightly by so many others before them. Striving for excellence and innovative execution of enigmatic eclecticism honesty and conviction are their weapons of choice.

Scorpion Jack are somehow unique and have been compared to Gomez, the Kings of Leon, Peter Gabrielle, DJ Shadow, Nirvana, Flights of the Concorde, Thin Lizzy, The Police, Opeth and John Martyn. Their songs are topical, comical and inspiring telling tales of elated moments, “It was the best night of my life, I wish that I could pause time!” Currently unsigned Scorpion Jack are recording their second studio album which promises to be a deviation from this sound encompassing a more eclectic and electronic sound.
