Album Notes
7 TIME GRAMMY WINNER Paul Wertico says "... a musical statement that takes you somewhere you might have always wanted to go but never knew existed."

Crumblehead Records proudly presents the newest release (2009) of Scott Earl Holman Trio 'FAITH AND WORKS', which features 7 time grammy winner Paul Wertico on drums
( Pat Metheny, Larry Coryell, Kurt Elling,...) and Larry Gray on bass
( Nancy Wilson, Ramsey Lewis, Larry Coryell,...).
This CD has something for everyone and all compositions are originals. The opening cut is explosive and the proceeding cuts lead you through mellow, and often eclectic, modern sensitivities.
The entire CD has a very open free feel and yet never looses accessibility. These are the best drum and bass solos you will hear anywhere. Liner notes by Paul Wertico.
Scott Earl Holman's trio release, 'Don’t Wake The Kids' received airplay worldwide in over 20 countries in 2007.

Below is a small sample of DJ responses and stations playing 'Faith And Works' as of 3/10/09

Another gem from Scott Earl Holman. This 2009 release has an edge that comes out of the colaboration with Paul Wertico (bass) and Larry Gray (drums). The energy between the players and during their solos is blistering. These musicians are risk takers. So hang on and take the ride!

Jazz Podium, Jazzzeitung

His first studio CD since the highly praised 1997 (again recently reissued) disc "Don't Wake The kids" is faithful to the quiet tones. Larry Gray at the bass and Paul Wertico at the percussion celebrated jointly with Holman on "Faith And communication piano trio jazz pursuing the higher cause", touching, humanly, vulnerable and in a very personal statement of the participants. Only slightly over three hours that three were in the studio, without samples, without arrangements, without any preproduction, however in the confidence on the intuitive power of mutual listening. The determination "This is jazz for the next century" is carried in no way presumptuously – the deep authenticity of the music wipes every suspicion relating to this aside...

Scott you have definitely produced an incredible companion to your first cd we received, "Don't Wake The Kids". "Faith And Works" is a broody, moody master piece of exploratory Jazz. Adventurous and extremely engaging, ably led by your exquisite piano, add to that Larry Gray and Paul Wertico and we have an electric combination exploring the boundaries Then redefining them. At times time stood still and notes were suspended in space adding to the tension and emotion of this cd, all in all a brilliant cd. Bravo on a wonderfully stylish album. …….kindest regards

A fine trio . A trio that plays honest jazz. You can follow the songs with a kind of an easy way; but the music is not easy at all. Playing not easy songs in an easy way, then you are a great musician. And that is what they are.
