ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
'He Will Be Immanuel' is the traditional Christmas story told with modern jazz background. It features jazz legend Ira Sullivan and Scott Earl Holman on spoken word. The music on this CD is unique and fresh. Impossible to describe. Tracks 2 , 3 and 4 are all extended cuts to allow development of solos and story line.

Track 1 is a short intro to the CD and features Bridget Dunn reading bible passages about the birth of Christ to stream of consciousness piano and drums.

Track 2 , 3 and 4 are conversations between 2 fictitious shepherds ( Ira Sullivan and Scott Earl Holman) who hear the angels announce the birth of Christ while watching their flocks of sheep, their journey to see the Baby Jesus and then their return home as witnesses to the events.

All the above is served over a wonderful bed of modern jazz featuring 3 great Chicago bass players ( Kelly Sill, Brian Sandstrom and Marlene Rosenberg) and 7 time grammy winner Paul Wertico on drums and has solos by Ira Sullivan, Chicago jazz greats John Moulder , Mark Colby, Chris Madsen, Barrett Harmon and Florida flutist Marc Berner with Scott Earl Holman on piano and Hammond organ.
This is a one of a kind musical work and will become an indispensable addition to your holiday music and jazz collection.
