Album Notes
Composed as the instrumental soundtrack to a modern dance piece choreographed by Becky Radway, "Crooked House" examines the relationships between 4 individuals who share a residence in a dark, twisted corner of the world. Alternating between minimalist compositional techniques, somber jazz and explosive post-rock, the structures dictate the fragile state of mind each character is burdened by, as displayed in their solo sections, as well as the back-and-forth struggles in the group movements. As their realizations, denials, accusations, and acceptances come to light, they are whipped into a frenzied finale that culminates in a shattering of their former lives. But is there hope for both individual and collective redemption?

"Crooked House" was engineered and mastered by Brett Kull (Echolyn), and features an extraordinary Philadelphia-based band:

Shawn Grafius, electric guitar
Scott Radway, keyboards / ambient guitar / chapman stick / mandolin
Rich Banister, bass / acoustic guitar
Carl Bahner, drums and percussion

Jon Radway, tenor sax
Joanne Cheng, trumpet
Brett Kull, lap steel
