ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Scott Snyder has been compared to Jackson Browne, John Hiatt, Dave Matthews, and Greg Browne for his insightful lyrics, songwriting and musical artistry. He has performed and toured at music festivals, clubs, cafes, concert halls, and the occasional piazza for more than 25 years throughout the United States and Europe.

If this were not enough, Scott Snyder is also an attorney practicing civil litigation for nearly 20 years in Oregon.

"Water, Rock and Sand" is Scott Snyder's 2003 debut CD. His latest CD "One True Thing" was released September 2009.

Noted OREGONIAN and WILLAMETTE WEEK music critic
Marty Hughley describes Scott Snyder as "A smart, sensitive songwriter who paints pensive strokes with his pen."

The songs on "Water, Rock and Sand" deal with love, loss, father and daughter, New Orleans, Italy, and even an
Edward Hopper painting. An eclectic mix of rock, blues, and modern folk "Water, Rock and Sand" is a triumphant and heartfelt intersection of a modern man's musical and poetic journey to translate the joys, sorrows and feelings of his time into something universal and accessible to all.

Star Power
A poet in pinstripes. Legal beagle rocker songwriter creme de la creme. A phenomenal effort.

Glorious sonic bloom
I've seen Scott here in Portland a couple of times and always found his live gigs really good. With the release of "W,R&S" I can finally sit down and give much deserved time to Scotts excellent tunes of love and death, seperation and fun. Scott mostly plays solo live, so it was also fun to hear these tunes in full glorious sonic bloom. Thanks for making this collection available to the general public.

Outstanding debut CD from a serious Pacific Northwest songwriting talent
I've heard Scott live a number of times, and this CD is long overdue. Highly recommended to anyone interested in quality and intelligent folk/blues/rock songwriting. Scott's is a sound that is tight, simple, yet full, without being too busy. Water Rock & Sand is one of those CDs that will spend many days in a row in the CD player.

Stunning and Soulful
Stellar songwriting and poetic lyrics. Scott is a true talent who blends the best of contemporary songwriting with killer arrangements and songcraft. Live he is awesome but this CD captures the essence of a true modern original songwriter schooled in the stories of love, love lost, but hopeful with the coming of brighter days.

This is one to buy
I particularly liked the beat and cadence of the songs and the variety. Normally, I don't listen to this type of music but, the songs take you thru the gamut of life experiences in a compelling way that makes you want to listen.
