Moving Stones

by Scott Von

Where Roots Music meets American folk. Many of the live favorites "Sailin' on a boat" "Hard" and "One by One" are found on this release. Recorded in an old farmhouse in Maine, the album captures the boot stompin’ vibe of a live room.

Album Notes
Get ready to be lifted up and taken on a musical romp through the up's and down's of an American life. This singer-songwriter is winning fans for good reason: Von offers up stirring grooves from the roots music tradition, strips it down and delivers it bare in the folk tradition, and takes musical risks by mingling with musicians who play jazz. This album has all that and more, and as one reviewer wrote: "Moving stones leaves you feeling better for having listened..."

From the Artist:
The songs that made this album banged their way through by succeeding at the live shows, where audiences enjoyed them night after night. So it came time to record and after a week in Maine, and the help of a handful of very talented musicians, here we are. To the fans who support the music, the live shows, and the recordings, the biggest thanks goes out to all of you...

-Scott Von

“What a wonderful, uplifting performance. One man, one guitar & the crowd just loved him...” -U.S Olympic torch committee, MC

“One of my favorites. He can live in my CD player…”
-Maggie Simpson, Songwriter/Instructor Planet Bluegrass

“An intoxicating brand of music. Incredible songwriter prowess and a great booming rhythmic guitar sound that's so full, accompanying instruments would just seem like window dressing...” -Ed McIlvain, Swallow Hill Music Center

"One of the most exciting performances we have seen in a long time..." -Denver’s Soiled Dove

"This guy is the double threat. First you realize how well he plays the guitar, and then he sings..." -B.C. Entertainment Review

This Scott Von character has one of the most distinct, rich, and natural voices in the current singer/songwriter resurgence. Talents like this are few and far between!

WOW! I'm lovin' the tunes!
Great music! This CD has been in my car player for a week now and I haven't turned on the radio since! One of my favorite musicians is Jack Johnson and I put Scott Von #2 with similiar sounds!

Sticks to the Ribs Goodness
This CD is like a good old dog that you saved as a puppy and have stayed with you. It's honest, true and lightens your heart on a slushy New England day. I turn to this CD whenever I need a lift from what's life's handing me. "Sailin' on a Boat" and "Down by the Sea" will get you heart beating and feet moving and "Hard" and "Sunday's Coming" will bring a tear to your eye if you're not careful. Scott Von is the real deal. Organic. Unpackaged. Savor the natural goodness fresh off the musical vine.

I have watched and listen to this man play for 18 years now. Simply commanding!

I have not had the cd for a month and it is almost worn out from use. I love it
