ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Recorded with his power trio, the album “Portable Groove” pushes to the edges of acoustic folk rock, roots, funk, and world beat grooves. High energy, and full of optimism, the disc introduces us to some new character sketches such as Molly Mallone and Poor Old Jack. The opening track Egypt shows us that Scott Von can lay down the groove, and with songs like Next World and Depend On This we get the rock-n-roll that can only come from a stripped down power trio.

Quotes:
“What a wonderful, uplifting performance. One man, one guitar & the crowd just loved him...” -U.S Olympic torch committee, MC

“One of my favorites. He can live in my CD player…”
-Maggie Simpson, Songwriter/Instructor Planet Bluegrass

“An intoxicating brand of music. Incredible songwriter prowess and a great booming rhythmic guitar sound that's so full, accompanying instruments would just seem like window dressing...” -Ed McIlvain, Swallow Hill Music Center

"One of the most exciting performances we have seen in a long time..." -Denver’s Soiled Dove

"This guy is the double threat. First you realize how well he plays the guitar, and then he sings..." -B.C. Entertainment Review

Love this album! High energy, great songwriting and diverse.
I bought this album after I purchased Scotts newer album Moving Stones at a live concert. This one is in my Ipod and I workout to the music. Great tunes, funky and fun original music. This was his first album, and it really is portable groove music!
