Album Notes
Scott Wolfson and Other Heroes are fast making a name for themselves as New Jersey’s indie-folk powerhouse, spurring crowds into motion throughout the Mid-Atlantic since 2011. With their latest release, Welcoming the Flood, they build on the success of their 2014 debut, Life on Fire, extending the boundaries of Scott’s rich lyrical imagery and the band’s big, catchy, complex sound.

"The Other Heroes don’t waste any time letting the listener know they’ve kicked it up another notch on this latest album...The band continues to mature and even the quieter songs carry a bit more drama. As the songs continue to spill out of Scott Wolfson’s fertile imagination, they keep getting more infectious and intriguing." — Richard Cuccaro, Acoustic Live

"Welcoming The Flood is the next step in the evolution of Scott Wolfson and Other Heroes. The sound is fuller, the band more expansive and the songwriting is witty and intelligent. This is the best SWAOH project yet!" — Joltin' Joe Pszonek, Radio Nowhere 90.3 FM

"Sophomore Slump is definitely NOT something Scott Wolfson and Other Heroes need to worry about. From the first track, my feet were tapping and they pretty much never stopped. (OK, maybe "Sarah's Hole in the Ground" and "We Can't Go Home Again" were more swaying than foot-tapping songs, but still...)...A little Folk, a little Blues and a lot of pure musical awesomeness!" —

"I’m going to do what I rarely do, write an album review. It’s for Scott Wolfson and Other Heroes’ “Welcoming the Flood”. The name is a nice tip off to what’s inside, such upbeat titles as “Unloved Daughter”, “We Can’t Go Home Again,” and the cheerful, “We Will All Die Together”. What it isn’t a tipoff to is that this is album is fun. Yes, the titles are tragic but it is filled with a boundless energy...Scott’s songs have a lot of words in them, I have no idea how he remembers them all, but they effortlessly fit the melody, there is no forced meter and no forced rhyme. There’s no effort for us the listener but I hope there’s effort to Scott or it’s just not fair. This should not be easy...The band is great...It’s because of how they play. They aren’t showing off; They are filling in all the spaces that should be filled and none of the spaces that shouldn’t...The album doesn’t just make you move; it makes you think." — Gordon Nash, Wise Madness
