ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
SCOTTY “BOY” McCOY Barbed Wired
July 2010

Finally getting the chance to remix the demos that were being sold at Barbed Wire Boys shows, Scotty has released some of his greatest hits. This CD contains “California Cowgirls”, “The Jailbait Bop”, “Better by the Beer”, and his signature song “Double Shot”. In addition to the solid rhythm section that was the Barbed Wire Boys, Tommy Dean on bass and Dave Patt on drums, this CD features a slew of guest performers including Don Teshner on harp & fiddle, Neil Morrow on piano, Martin Blasick, David D’Amico, Phil Haley, Clay King, Jere Mendelsohn, & Terry Okey on guitar, and Chris Lawrence on pedal steel.

Virtually all of these songs have been previously released in other versions on the Moonshine Mountain Boys or 1880 CD’s. However, as on his “Reclamation” CD, these versions are Scotty’s “director’s cuts”. Much time and energy was spent on improving vocals, as well as new guitar solos and parts, and additional mixing. It’s a strong representation of Scotty’s vision and it’s evolution over the years.

Keep an eye out for an upcoming video for “California Cowgirls” as well as a live CD & DVD titled “All In” that recaptures Scotty’s original inspiration to combine country & heavy metal.
