Album Notes
A river's course is never straight and a well-worn path isn’t always the best way. Costanza’s journey in life and music has followed the river’s course and found new paths. Growing up in the Land of Enchantment was beautiful and heartbreaking. Costanza’s connections to the Rio Grande river valley run deep and so do the scars that he earned there. From ideal early memories of picking apples at the family orchard in Belen, NM to dealing with murder; Costanza gives us raw, unfiltered songs about love, loss and everything in between.

From the Rio Grande river to the banks of the mighty Mississippi Costanza finds continued inspiration in the black soil land of Iowa. It’s the opposite end of the biosphere from the desert and you can point out the contrast in Costanza’s lyrics. Now a thousand miles down the road and east on I-40, where time stands still and corn rows and gravel roads are the majority of the population. This is the space where Costanza finds inspiration for songs about hard work and reaping what you sow, as presented in the wide open sonic space of Thank God For The Rain and the descriptive winter scenes lyrically painted in Northland. Silver City Drive represents the latest in Costanza’s musical journey and is a strong addition to the genre of Americana music.

“Potently fortified, crisp country arrangements."

Silver City Drive - You Will Enjoy The Ride!
In 2013, Sean released a CD called Raw and Real – those were two of the words that came to mind as I was listening to his latest, Silver City Drive. There were other words like genuine, compelling, beautiful. There are no gimmicks here – rather, solid lyrics that grab you and musical arrangements that enhance without overpowering. The imagery of the lyrics sent me to the map during the title song to locate Silver City – I felt like I was right there, along on that drive. And speaking of lyrics – there are no contrived rhymes in these songs, something that always detracts for me when present. Rambling In My Bones went straight to my gypsy heart. Each song is special and sung by Sean’s distinctive and engaging voice. This is a collection you definitely want to have.
