A great rock band that also includes a violin in the mix. The type of music that is perfect for driving down the highway with the windows down.

Album Notes
When Todd Wilson awoke one morning five years ago with the words “second day red” running through his mind, he didn’t know what to think, except to jot it down in his notebook maybe to be understood at a later date. About this same time a singer/songwriter named Stephen Clarke was moving back to Austin from a three year stint in California where he enjoyed mild success playing and writing on the west coast. When Stephen moved back to Austin he didn’t know what to expect, but what he did find was a group of incredibly talented and unique musicians eager to take the music he was creating to the next level. First, a chance response to a classified ad put violinist Drew Shafer and Stephen together, performing songs Stephen had written. Stephen had played with other violinists before, but something was different this time. Next, the anchor of the group, Frank Favacho, was found. His thundering beats added the perfect blend of virtuosity and musicality to the songs. However the group still needed something more. That ‘something’ was found when bassist Roel Martinez and keyboardist Todd Wilson joined the group. Roel brought his melodic thumping bass while Todd introduced a hauntingly organic flavor to this now complete team. After four years the band completed EP releases, expanded their fan base, and performed countless shows. During that time things started to change…a new direction started to take shape…the new sound was being defined. The music started to sound less like a heart broken singer/songwriter and more like a rock band. The notebook was pulled out and the scribbling was found, its meaning finally understood….. Introducing Second Day Red, the new project from Stephen Clarke, Todd Wilson, Drew Shafer, Roel Martinez, and Frank Favacho. Poised and ready to push their new record “Gallery of Strangers,” please welcome the newest and most entertaining time in this band’s life. “Gallery of Strangers” was produced and recorded by Austin’s own Ken Tondre, who was able to truly capture the songs and succeed where many other bands fail… capturing the energy this band creates when playing live. Blending a variety of sounds from piano to violin, Second Day Red not only interests listeners but persuades them to take notice. Driven by rich melodies, meaningful lyrics and a sound that is uniquely versatile, listeners can’t help but think they’ve stumbled onto something special. Hailing from Austin, TX, Second Day Red has fully evolved after four years of writing and playing together. Taking influences from such acts as the Dave Matthews Band, The Samples, U2, and Smashing Pumpkins, you’ll be sure to not only notice the unique vocal abilities of Stephen Clarke, but how well this group of musicians interacts with each other. Now is your chance to see and hear the beautiful mix of melodies and rhythms that they have created.

A really great hard to find cd. The harmonies of Stephan and Drew are nothing short of fantastic. The violin is very well placed in the compositions and extremely well played.Although it is one of my favorite cd's,I still reccommend going to a live show as they are even better....major stage presence, almost haunting. hope the band continues to grow and looking forward to next cd.
