ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
CAN A SHY PERSON MAKE GREAT MUSIC? THIS AVATAR SURE CAN.

Seekay’s new single “Hurts”

This song is completely beguiling. Beautifully scripted, bone raw and honest, it’s down tempo chill vibe and sonorous vocals underpin some of the strongest heart pulling lyrics in a long time. Simple, and utilising space up there with the best of them like Bjork, Lorde or the eponymous 2015 release ‘Urban Flora’, the song draws you in and knifes you right to your soul with lyrics like ‘maybe I should reject you/re-set you/baby forget you/I just ain’t got strength to/’. No-one listening to it can escape its laser insight into the fragility and vulnerability of the human condition called love.

All the more amazing because the song is fronted and delivered by an avatar, Seekay.

She’s beautiful and believable and it’s incredible the connection you will already feel with her after listening to the song. You'll want (no, need) to know more!

Seekay’s the creation of an Australian songwriter and poet who revels in the creative freedom and flexibility that using an avatar can bring to their lives and their work. They also like the fact that using an avatar allows them to include many more people in their projects than a traditional band set-up could from song choice, song styles, design, venue, musicians, producers, engineers, graphic designers, animators and fans.

Hurts is the first release from Seekay’s upcoming EP – “No Evidence of Dis-ease” and she's hoping she can have huge fun in 2019 together with you guys!
