Ok, when was the last time you just listened to a record?

Not in the background while you washed the dishes, or shuffling through your iPod at the gym…

I mean _really_ listened to it…

No doubt it was a truly distinctive album that inspired you to turn off the TV, dim the lights, raise the volume, and _just_ listen…

Abbey Road, maybe? Joni Mitchell's Blue? Nick Drake's Pink Moon?

"Open the Gate," this shining debut from Sense of Wonder, will send you scrambling for your favorite high-fidelity, googlephonic headphones. It has that mystical, transporting quality that begs you to close your eyes — picturing blue skies, mossy riverbanks, and sun-dappled skin…

Through this "Gate" you'll find a beautiful winding path. A smile is there to guide you, sweet harmony on the breeze, and a witch in the shadows — a fairytale landscape promising laughter, wisdom, and spiritual cleansing.

At first hooked by a handful of playfully original love songs, you'll soon find yourself drawn into a deeper place, lost in a contemplative woods, before finally emerging into the welcoming sunlight of the closing arpeggios.

This is a sonic landscape that you'll visit often — each time knowing it more intimately, and unlocking more of it's secrets. Sense of Wonder's debut will deftly find its way into your collection of _listening_ albums.

Rick and Audrey deliver the magic!
I put this CD on while I was sitting in LA traffic, and the music transported me to a far more beautiful and magical place for the rest of my morning commute. Rick and Audrey's songs really do inspire a sense of wonder. The production is slick and rich, adding much depth to songs that already tap into something deeper in the subconscious. I recommend it to everyone, and especially to people in need of a little escape from the everyday grind.

"Sense of Wonder" brings Faith, Hope, and Love
Listening to Open the Gate by Sense of Wonder inspires me to a deeper faith in the power of music and hope for the world. The harmonies and orchestrations are aesthetically and technically beautiful. I might have expected that such amazing music would give the impression of showing off, but instead it is an invitation to create more loveliness in the world.

Fresh, charming, clearly a work of love
Meticulous writing that continually surprises and brings a smile, entwined harmonies, faint echoes of Joni, and playful production. Bravo! Oh, and I'm getting some red socks... ;-)

Great Presentation of Wonderful Songs
Rick and Audrey have given us great songs, produced to showcase the songs wonderfully--not pretentious, and totally professional. A great representation of contemporary acoustic music that should be in your collection.

Takes one back to a simpler, gentler time.
Sense of Wonder's Open the Gate contains some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard. I found Sense of Wonder quite by accident (I know Rick's brother, found the link on his myspace, etc.) and was captivated by what I heard at Wonder's page. HAD to own the whole thing. Put it in the drive as soon as it arrived and it has rarely been out since. I stopped working, leaned back in my chair, and closed my eyes to listen. Reminiscent of the 60's folk I loved so well, this CD took me back to a simpler, gentler time. Marvelous music!

BTW, CD Baby's customer service has been of equal quality.
