The Flock Descends

by Sepehr Bozorgi and the Carpets

The band does not have a set style, instead preferring to leap between genres and between traditional and modern instruments as it suits the subject matter and the moment itself, from neoclassical to ambient to punk.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Sepehr Bozorgi and the Carpets is a project to celebrate literature and song launched in 2016.

It was founded by Sepehr Bozorgi, a classically trained musician and epic literature enthusiast, who brought together an British-Persian musical collective - the Carpets. They design emotional and psychological, but above all musical, journeys, drawing on and exploring themes and stories from both early and contemporary literature.

The Flock Descends is Sepehr Bozorgi and the Carpets' début album. It charts a 9-stage quest over the valleys which puncture the landscape of Attar's Conference of the Birds. Recorded over 10 months in three countries, the album explores many different genres, showcasing the full range of expression the project has to offer.

They hope you enjoy accompanying them on these journeys as much as they do sculpting the musical paths.
