Album Notes
September Begins introduces Literary Art Punk with their second album Sound and Ink. Ryno White set out to revive the dying art of punk rock by pushing the genre in an innovative new direction. Could this album mark the beginning of the musical movement that discouraged rock fans have been waiting for? The unique sound of September Begins is hard to define (go ahead and try), yet is reminiscent of 90s punk, metal, grunge and even a little 80s rock. Instrumentals range from fun and upbeat to heavy and dark, and everywhere in-between. No matter what you are into, there is truly something for everyone on Sound and Ink.

It is the lyrics that separate September Begins from everything else. Written in the Taoist style, Ryno white’s philosophic words are dark and mysterious yet deeply meaningful and beautifully poetic. It is hard to believe that this entire album; from writing, recording, engineering and artwork for each song was mostly done by Ryno White and his drummer Tod in Ryno’s home studio. Yet September Begins continues to make their mark in the music scene with the first full Video Albums with an art piece for each song, creating a backdrop for the entirety of both Sound and Ink, and their first album Welcome to California.

Musical, lyrical, and visual elements all come together to take you on an epic journey with many unexpected twists and turns. In a society full of manufactured, cookie cutter songs with nothing to say, Ryno White has taken a step toward bringing art, creativity and meaning back into music.
