Album Notes
Sgt Remo, an unlikely reggae artist, is a Mexican born reggae vocalist who resides in the U.S. During the last few years he has progressively achieved an emergent spot in reggae with his own take on roots reggae. He proudly represents, not only his native Mexico but, all the underprivileged people across the world who find comfort in the uplifting message of reggae music. In a recent interview he states “I’ve realized the impact of music on our culture and how powerful of a tool it can be. It is not only our entertainment, but also our means of teaching and sharing ideas. I don’t think there is a better way of addressing the many issues that we deal with in our communities.”
This latest album highlights his most recent body of work with 13 tracks of roots reggae & dancehall music that will have you listening from start to finish. For this album Sgt Remo has guest artists on only three occasions. Reggae legend General Smiley is featured on the song Make a Change and makes a brief apperanace on It's All Been Said. The other collaboration is titled Call on Jah and features German producer/artist Don Goliath and veteran Bermuda reggae artist Mikey Wild. The rest of the songs Sgt Remo goes at it alone giving the listeners the best his baritone vocals and conscious lyrics.
