Album Notes
Finding Love and Romance, is the element that created the energy for this sensuous CD. I am one to worship and function according to the moon, so the title "Blue Moon" set the mood for finding love. When the moon is full and you find love, everyone does their own "Moondance", so this cut was an easy follow up, and one of my favorites. "Don't go to Strangers" is dedicated to a true relationship that I had, so it is performed with extraordinary emotion. After losing one relationship, "Fine Brown Frame", gave me the fun and freedom to go looking for another. Of course, with every new relationship, you must express the "Fever" you get from new love, and I truly enjoy singing this cut. "Teach me Tonight" is a powerful song to keep any relationship going, when you want to find out whats missing in your romance, and "What a Difference a day made" is a true statement of appreciation of true love. All relationships don't work out, and "Since I Fell for You" is a reality cut, that allows you to face the hurt, get the blues and sulk a while. Oh but when it does work out, don't let me get bored, because my mantra is "It Don't Mean a Thing (If it ain't got that swing), inspired by the great Ella Fitzgerald, my scatting skills on this cut even surprised me!
These are some of my favorite jazz standards, with which I have personal relationship with, which comes through in each performance. My musicians are session players for very well known artists, as well as Broadway orchestras.
"Warm, Smooth, Sang like a Pro, Love it!" are all words used so far by early listeners. So turn your lights down low, get your favorite beverage, and enjoy. I hope this CD will be on regular rotation amongst your favorites.
