ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
PLEASE LOOK FOR THIS RECORD AVAILABLE ON ITUNES
Shakedown has been a band in waiting for far too long. A Band full of potential, but short on delivery...At least where recorded output was concerned. But finally, that has come to an end. With "Call It What You Want", Shakedown has released a CD that actually captures how great a band they've become in the last couple of years. And it does in a big way. This isn't another Shakedown two or three song EP, but an impressive 18 song full-length. Their sound is an unapologetic tribute to old school ska and reggae dub. It often evokes happy memories of say, the English Beat or even sometimes in a more contemporary vein, Sublime. This CD is dead on. The band is playing in top notch form. The arrangements are tight and groovin'. I Love a band where the singer is as good as the band that is backing him. Jeffry is a truly underappreciated talent in the Sacto music scene. Hopefully this CD will remedy this oversight. Kudos to A.J. for the lively and clean production. There is so much going on musically, but it never sounds busy...Active, yes. Groovin', absolutely. and so, so soulful. Hey it even has a bonus track that is actually a bonus! When does that ever happen? It's a lovely little acoustic ballad that ends the CD with just the right vibe. The guys are very excited about this release, and righttfully so. Call It What You want is a must have for anyone who's a fan of the more reggae side of ska.

This album is choice.
Whelp, I don't really like "reviews" too much; they are subjective. So, I'll just tell you this, I'm proably the old man of the bunch here, being 37, but these guys have a flow that I felt way back in 89-90 when I first heard sublime. I think anyone who's looking for something new to listen to should grab this CD. Good sh*t.
Peace,
GMan

Catchy, Original and a sweet blend of music
First Heard about these guys through Rudebwoy Productions, They had a couple songs for download on their website and fell in love with the song GETTAWAY. An amazing piece of song writing. Its been about 6 mons of listenin to that song over and over and its easy to say its still a favorite, especially the acoustic version of it which is a hidden track on the CD...Other great songs is Incomplete & White devil, but a great CD to listen to from cover to cover, even with 18 tracks on it. This CD comes HIGHLY recommended from the boys here at Sense Boardwear, Us socal peeps are loving this norcal style. PICK THIS CD UP TODAY!!!

This is a tight cd
If you're a fan of reggae, old school ska or just quality music in general you should definately listen to these tracks and decide for yourself. This cd has a bit of similiar vibe to Wonders of the World by Long Beach Dub All-Stars in my opinion, but is very unique in it's own right. I don't think this album's gonna get it's deserved credit for a few more years. Best of luck to the singer on this record Jeffrey & also to the remaining members of Shakedown (who may very well never sound this good again;) Peace
