Album Notes
Shake N' Cor & the Bonetones music is Blues/Roots music with Jazz/ Gospel overtones. the music is led by singer songwriter Corry Suter's sultry vocals, Shakey Reay Suter's soulful World Class Harmonica, & backed by award winning players - Sandy "Sandybone" Smith on Drums & Guitar on his own tune - " I Had a Dream", Sandy was named West Coast Blues Reviews top blues drummer 8 times, Dave "DD" Dykhuizen on Guitar, DD is a brilliant guitar stylist who has toured with a whose who of the Blues world, & Keith "Poppy" Picot on Acoustic Bass Keith won the Maple Blues award as Bass player of the year in 2011. Also featured with a guest appearance on the song Rain In Paris is Maple Blues & Juno award winner Chris Whitely on Cornet. The recording was recorded live off the floor on Vancouvers Island in 2011 and mixed by Sandybone & Shakey Reay Suter, and mastered by Andy Krehm at Silverbirch Studios in Toronto. Their music covers a wide gamut of musical & emotional ground - creating a truly original sound that is blues based yet truly original.
Corry's thought-provoking lyrics come from soul searching questions in her attempt to find her own aswers - and - "maybe they're your aswers, too."on "are you true to me? " the title track of this great new cd.
" The reason I love blues music so much is that it's story-tellin' music, and I have always loved to write stories and keep journals, and explore the core of everything. The gift is the song. Love is the aswer. I just Wanna Do What I do --- and Leave it all for You ........Enjoy. With Love, Corry
