ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The folk music legacy of Newfoundland was used as the focus of the choir’s debut recording Rock Within the Sea: Folksongs of Newfoundland released in May 1996, with guest artist Anita Best. We are proud that it is the first choral album of our folksongs in 20 years and it is a "collection-must" for students and fans of our folk music everywhere. It was honored by being nominated for a Canadian East Coast Music Association (ECMA) Award for Best Classical Recording. Produced in collaboration with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the album contains 15 classic songs.
