Album Notes
Shana Morrison. "Thats Who Iam"
[2006 bmi]

Wow! Shes got a great cd here. Alot of really nice songs. I've seen her band a few times in the live venue. They rock your socks off, then leave. But they do offer their cd for sale at the shows and other places, ofcourse! The title of her cd? "Thats Who I am". I guess its her way of saying that Van Morrison is her dad, and shes fine w/ it. Theres no footsteps to follow, theres no shadow to walk in.[these are my opinions] The woman has come on strong, and her cd tells the story. It has all the things a listner would like...You got yer' rock, ya got yer' love songs,ya got your folk...If anything, the girl gave it all. The cd is over 54 mins. And its all entertaining! Plus shes really a sweetheart and her band kicks serious butt. Thats the truth as i know it to be. Enjoy!

She did it again! Amazingly powerful voice at any tempo!
The first time I heard Shana was live and my husband and I drop everything when she comes around again. I loved her last album and was not ready to move on until I heard some new songs at one of her shows. That's Who I Am is the next best album and you love each song -- rock, soulful, blues -- you name it. And her band is a lot of fun to watch and listen to... they each play their parts perfectly and really rock. You have to give it a listen!

The guy who wrote her bio.......
Hes very good. Sums the project and cd very well. But , i'll wait and hear her band. I've bought a few downloads. Wish i had the full cd. Her guy is good. But i only had enough for the 2 downloads. Enjoying them. Shelly

A Bluesy, Rootsy Gem
For fans of earthy rhythm and blues, Marin County-based singer/songwriter Shana Morrison’s new, self-issued disc That’s Who I Am (Belfast Violet) comes highly recommended. As on 2002’s melodic, inventive and under-appreciated Seven Wishes (Vanguard), there is still plenty of fine songcraft here, but with a leaner, sparer edge that seems to lift Morrison out of the sterile studio and place her back into the roadhouse that’s her true milieu. The classic sound, drawing just a little paternal inspiration from daddy Van, ranges from sweet soul grooves of “WoWoWo” and “Strong on You” (tunes that one could imagine enjoying a second life in covers decades from now) to the rafter-rocking vocal pyrotechnics of “You Don’t Own Me,” the dirty whitegirl blues screamer “Simple” (featuring the stellar guitar work of Mike Schermer) and the streamlined garage-rock of “Drive.”

Shana Morrison is a gem well worth discovering. That’s Who I Am goes down with the smooth flavor and the playful kick of a fine sipping whiskey, and is every bit as intoxicating. It needs no chaser.

Shana Knocks the Socks off Top 40 Artists
Shana's vocals and artistic genius on this album clearly deserve recognition, she has humbly become a worlwide legend in the making. The songs on this cd cut to the core; in many ways. I truly hope she keeps cranking out the tunes. I am lucky enough to live in San Francisco Bay Area and in the past few years have seen her perform live mulitple times. AWESOME to hear in person. Go see Shana live if you can! Favorite song on this album: DRIVE! (Chris Collins rocks it on the guitar!)

One of the best new artists of the century
That's Who I Am, is a breakthrough CD for Shana Morrison and her band. She sings such songs as Jupiter Jones and Woo Woo with tremendous vocal range and passion. Ms Morrison covers diverse musical styles from Blues to Traditional with her own unique style. This is a CD of unlimited power, a must for everyone's collection.

ABSOLUTELY one of the best CD's I've ever heard
I haven't heard anything with this much hit potential in years. It's new, it's fresh, and there are about 8 potential crossover hits on this CD. Anything too long to be a single are wonderful, fully realized songs sung by one of the best new artists around. I immediately entered it in the Grammys when I heard it. What can I say? The potential of this CD is endless. I expect it to go platinum.
