Album Notes
Shannon Ames is somewhere full-moon crooning beside Ray Lamontagne, Piers Faccini, Bon Iver, Ben Howard, David Gray, Alexi Murdoch, Iron and Wine, Ryan Adams, and Jack Johnson...creating colorful new galaxies in song...

Troubadour Serenade is a record that beautifully conveys colorful layers of emotion. Themes represented on this contemplative recording include deep and articulated sentiments: as Shannon says, "the figurin' it out songs", the " love-gone-wrong-gone-right songs", and all were written and recorded during extended travels - most notably during some brilliant seasons in France. Melodically and harmonically rich, the songs on this album delve into Americana, blues, Celtic, as well as syncopated world grooves and instrumentation. Composed and orchestrated with complimentary voices and instruments, the eleven tracks on this recording highlight the talents and collaboration of several passionate and professional musicians. Production and mastering of the tracks was artfully and articulately completed in Bend, Oregon at Featherlight Studios by Steven Michael Hartwell.
Several songs on this album placed in the top five of several international songwriting contests in the folk genre.
Troubadour Serenade is a vivid landscape of emotions in sound. Like a serenade from a foreign yet familiar voice, this collection of songs will transport you as much as it will ground you.
