Album Notes
The band formerly known as Shen Fine was fortunate to have two brilliant singer songwriters as members for much of the 10 year history of the band. Steve Moreno was the founding member and wrote Along the Valley Road as a tribute to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia when he first moved to Virginia. His song, The Fiery-Haired Mermaid, is an ode to a wooden mermaid that decorates a fine pub in San Diego California of the same name.

Shannon Dove wrote the rest of the songs on this album. He has poured his heart and soul into his writing and many of the songs reflect stages and instances in his life. Not Really an Outlaw carries a lot of truth and Shannon swears that most of it is true. Kinda Like the Blues Is indeed about Shannon's neighbor, Primer and the Paint shares a personal story of his dad, and Granny Mary and The Book of Ruth are about the homestead in Mathias, West Virginia. The Bob Dylan Song and Long May You Flow round out the collection as fanciful tributes to Bob Dylan and the Shenandoah River respectively.

Shannon is joined by his long-time band mate, Brent Holl on all of these songs and they are joined by the folk-jazz stylings of Bart Reardon who also recorded, mixed and mastered all of the songs at his studio in Singers Glen, Virginia.
