Album Notes
Shannon Montsinger is a singer/songwriter based in Virginia. With the gift of a classical guitar from her father (well known East Coast R&B saxophonist Lawson "Buzz" Montsinger) in 6th grade, she learned to play chords and began writing lyrics and songs with her best friend. Continuing into her twenties to write songs while playing guitar, she enlisted the help of JMU college friend, Steve Vandam (Everything/"Who Got the Hooch") to record some of the songs she had written over the years. That first CD was recorded in Vandam's studio "The Dojo" in Sperryville, VA in early 2000's. Several years and life experiences later, she reconnected with Vandam in his studio now located in Richmond, VA to record a single called "Girls Night Out (GNO)". She also produced a music video to accompany that single and it soon became a viral hit on YouTube, garnering over 50,000 views in under two weeks. The following year, she went back into the studio with Vandam to record this album-- a collection of nine originals and one eerie, cool remake of "Burning Down the House" by Talking Heads.
The album is an interesting mix of both poppy, catchy, hook-laden songs as well as some cool electronica/house tracks and even a nineties throwback titled "Complicated" that has elements reminiscent of the grunge era.

She continues to write music and record with Vandam and makes all of her material available for use in advertising and tv/movie soundtracks. Visit for more details.
