To See You Smile

by Sharon Anderson

It is with this smile that Krishna gives his discourse in the Bhagavad Gita. It is with sweetest love, that God exhorts the devotee to seek him unconditionally, as the only source of fulfillment there is. (swami kriyananda) new version -see albums

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
PLEASE VISIT ENCHANTED TRAILS, TO SIR WITH LOVE, AND AS IF SMILING ALBUMS FOR UPDATED AUDIO ON "TO SEE YOU SMILE"
In gratitude for the teachings that have given me such yearning and purpose in this life. When you start to experience that kind of meditative tranquility, well.. it's a really deep love, and you want to share. I hope you all can find some peace here.
Instead of talking about me and my music and all that, Let me for a change, just put some quotes in here from my book As if Smiling, that this song was written for.

"The mighty Arjuna said to Krishna:" I shall not fight", and became silent. Lord Krishna, as if smiling, spoke these words to the despondent Arjuna in the midst of the two armies...

Once in the land of California in the early 1950s, there was a true Avatar. He had come from India in the 20s and his presence was felt on this earth, all around the whole world in one way or another, for he brought a great love.
In another lifetime he had been the mighty warrior Arjuna, whose story had brought to the forefront for every person to heed, the need to fight the battle that rages on
Between good and evil.
Now he had come back again, purely in response to the cries for help,
as Jesus had.
And, he had an answer"
............................

The battle is inner.. our own mental citizens.

The words "As if Smiling" indicate that Arjuna has already advanced far on the path, to win such an indication of Gods love. As Krishna remains inactive during the war, and participates only to guide Arjuna's chariot, so he often seems remote to the devotee, and even indifferent to the most earnest efforts to attain him. Krishna's smile, however .. is ever there .. for those who seek him... earnestly. It is not easily won but loving reassurance is given from time to time, in one form or another. The devotee feels Gods loving support in his heart. In time he is conscious of that inward smile. It is with this smile that Krishna gives his discourse in the Bhagavad Gita. It is with sweetest love, that God exhorts the devotee to seek him unconditionally, as the only source of fulfillment there is.
