Lady Slipper

by Sharon Anderson

Inspired by Joni Mitchell's Chelsea Morning, it began as a Chas Williams instrumental called Lady Slipper, so I wrote it into ..what else.. a Cinderella story. Enchanting and hauntingly beautiful.. and it is on the Enchanted Trails album. Thanks to Swami

Album Notes
Sharon has been a songwriter on music row, and artist on Capitol, Curb, Liberty and Royalty records labels, and a wandering minstrel gypsy through the Rocky Mountains and rolling prairies of Alberta, British Columbia, The Yukon and Northwest Territories. Then, a mom and housewife.. and finally a bookblock editor at Ingram Books, just outside of Nashville. She has written hundreds of songs, and 3 books, and studies Yoga meditation teachings, where much of her inspiration these days is born.
The music to this song is by Chas Williams, who provided the backdrop settings for much of the music on the Enchanted Trails album. This collaborative pairing has resulted in wonderful intriguing moods for these song ideas.. Chas is such an inspiration and amazing musician/producer. Other profound musical influences through the years have been James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Cat Stevens, Ian Tyson, Gordon Lightfoot, Neil Young, Paul Simon, John Denver, Merle Haggard, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Andrea Bocelli, and Frank Sinatra.
